Our Beliefs

Our belief is based on foundational biblical truths we call the 22 anchors of faith.

1. THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

We believe the Bible is God-inspired (2 Timothy 3:16,17). Both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

We believe God is Triune: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 2:17
Genesis 3:6
Romans 5:12-19

4. THE PLAN OF SALVATION

We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, signing the pardon of all who believe on Him. We affirm also the inward evidence of salvation which is the Holy Spirit’s witness to us. Lastly, we believe the outward evidence to others is a life of holiness.

John 3:16
Romans 5:8
Romans 8:16

6. JUSTIFICATION

I John 1:9
Romans 5:1
Galatians 2:16

8. SANCTIFICATION

Sanctification is an act of separating oneself from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God. This realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death and resurrection. Sanctification is 2-fold: Positional, meaning Christ imputes holiness upon us; Progressive, meaning we are continually transformed by the renewing of our minds.

9. LIVING A CHRISTIAN LIFE

We believe that it is the will of God that we be sanctified daily, growing constantly in the faith.

Hebrews 6:1
Galatians 5:25
Colossians 3:5-10

10. BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER

We believe that baptism by immersion is an outward sign of an inward work. We believe in the commemoration of the Lord’s Supper by the symbolic use of the bread and juice of the vine.

Matt. 28:19
Mark 16:16
I Corinthians 11:24, 25

11. BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is to endue the believer with power; and that His incoming is after the same manner as in Bible days. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by an initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance.

Acts 2:4
1 Cor 12:4-10
Acts 15:7-9

12. THE SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE

We believe that it is the will of God that we walk in the Spirit daily.

Ephesians 4:30-32
Galatians 5:25

13. THE GIFTS AND FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit uses the believer in specific gifts according to His will; and spiritual fruit as well as the gifts, are evidence of a Spirit-filled life.

I Corinthians 12:1-11
Galatians 5:22).

14. DIVINE HEALING

We believe that divine healing is the power of Christ to heal the physically sick in answer to the prayer of faith; Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Furthermore, deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers.

Isaiah 53:4,5
James 5:14-16
Matthew 8:16,17

15. THE BLESSED HOPE – RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH

We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent. The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the church.

I Thessalonians 4:16, 17

We believe that all shall stand some day before the judgement seat of God, and there receive eternal life or death.

19. THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST

The Second Coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ and His saints to reign on Earth for one thousand years.

Zechariah 14:5
Matthew 24:27

20. HEAVEN

We believe that Heaven is the glorious eternal home of born-again believers.

21. HELL

We believe that hell is the place of eternal torment for all who reject Christ as the Savior.

Matthew 25:46
Revelation 20:10,15

22. Marriage & Family

We believe God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female through genetic encoding and physiological manifestation in the womb before birth. These two distinct yet complimentary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Therefore, rejecting one’s biological sex is a direct rejection of the image of God within that person.
